Common questions
What's in the cutting range?
Hacksaws, utility knives, precision snips, shears and blades — engineered for clean, accurate cuts with minimal effort across workshop, garage and industrial use.
What are the snips and saws made of?
Tin snips are CrMo (chrome molybdenum) steel, several with bi-material handles; hacksaw frames are aluminum with high speed steel blades; workshop scissors are high carbon stainless steel; taps and dies are SK5 steel to DIN standards.
How do I choose the right hacksaw blade?
Match the blade to the material: fine-toothed for thin metal, coarse-toothed for thicker materials. Never use the wrong blade for the material — it wears fast or breaks.
What's the right sawing technique?
Hold the saw with both hands and use long, smooth strokes. Don't force it, don't twist or bend the blade, and don't keep cutting with a dull blade — that's how blades stick, snap, or leave rough cuts.
How should I maintain and store a saw?
A light oil on the blade reduces friction; store dry with the blade covered.
Do the snips say what they can cut?
Yes — cutting capacity is specified per wire type: piano wire, hard, medium hard, soft, steel, stainless steel, spring steel and iron wire.
Any safety essentials?
Wear safety glasses and gloves when cutting — flying debris is the everyday hazard, and the printed guide is blunt about not skipping protective gear.
