Torque Wrench

The classic range features a click type mechanism that gives an audible signal when the required torque is reached, preventing over-tightening. A built-in angular gauge assists with post-tightening, a twist lock secures the set torque against accidental adjustment, and a reversible 24 tooth ratchet mechanism to DIN 3122 gives 15 degree increments. Scale reads in Nm and ft/lb. Available in 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, and 3/4 inch drive across a wide torque range.

Torque Wrench Plus

The P-Series features a 72 tooth quick release ratchet mechanism with twist reverse to DIN 3122, a compact head for use in confined spaces, an industrial quality steel tube for added rigidity, an ergonomic bi-material grip, a locking button to maintain the set torque, and a hanging facility compatible with fall protection equipment.

Digital Torque Wrench

Accurate to plus or minus 1 percent with a digital display showing both Nm and ft/lb. Supports up to 9 pre-set torque values with custom programming, and delivers visual and audible alerts when the target torque is reached. A 45 tooth reversible ratchet with quick release ensures smooth operation across applications.

Which type of torque wrench do I need?
Click-type (the classic range): an audible click when you reach the set torque, dual Nm and ft-lb scale, built-in angular gauge — the general workshop choice. Torque Wrench Plus (P-Series): 72-tooth quick-release head with a compact profile for confined spaces, easy-to-read Nm scale. Digital: accurate to ±1% with a display showing both Nm and ft-lb, up to 9 pre-set values and visual/audible alerts. Preset: fixed at one value (90–140Nm models) for repeat production or fleet work where the setting must not drift. Torque screwdrivers: 1/4" drive for low-torque fastening, including 1000V insulated versions for electrical work.
How accurate are Teng Tools torque wrenches?
Click-type and Torque Wrench Plus models are accurate to ±4% across the measuring range. Digital torque wrenches are accurate to ±1%. Torque screwdrivers are accurate to ±6%. Every torque wrench conforms to ISO 6789, is individually tested, assigned a unique certification number and supplied with a Declaration of Conformance.
Do they read Nm or ft-lb?
The classic click-type range carries a dual scale in Nm and ft-lb. The Torque Wrench Plus series reads in Nm. Digital models display both. Dedicated ft-lb models are also available — including a 1" drive wrench reading 200–1,000 ft-lb.
How often should a torque wrench be calibrated?
Teng Tools recommends torque wrenches are cleaned and calibrated on a yearly basis. Servicing and recalibration are available on request — contact us to arrange it.
Do I need to wind it back after use?
Yes. After use, set the wrench to its lowest setting — left wound up, the springs inside can lose their normal tension over time and accuracy suffers. Store it in its original case, away from high humidity and temperature extremes.
Can I use one on left-hand threads?
Classic click-type wrenches torque right-hand only. For left-hand threads choose the Bi-Directional models (available in 1/2" and 3/4" drive) — digital and insert-head torque wrenches also work in both directions.
What should I never do with a torque wrench?
Never use it as a breaker bar to shift stubborn fasteners, never extend it with a pipe, and don't drop it — all three can put the calibration out. Set the torque, tighten to the click, and put it back in its case.
Can Teng torque wrenches be repaired?
Yes — repair kits and individual spare parts are available for specific torque wrench models, and servicing with recalibration is available on request. A Teng torque wrench is a serviceable instrument, not a throwaway.
What about very large fasteners?
The range runs up to 1" drive models reading as high as 2,000Nm (or 1,000 ft-lb). Torque multipliers with 1:3 and 1:10 ratios extend beyond that, and angle gauges cover torque-plus-angle specifications — the classic wrench has an angular gauge built in.
Do you have interchangeable-head torque wrenches?
Yes — insert torque wrenches take 9x12mm and 14x18mm interchangeable heads, with ratchet, open end and ring end options. One calibrated body, multiple heads.
