Teng Tools vs BOXO Compared (2026)

The short version: BOXO will get you into a loaded box for less money than we will, and if your budget is $1,500 you should buy from them. Two things are worth knowing before you do: every loaded Pro Series box ships the same 233 piece tool set whatever size you buy, and their warranty runs out on several categories that ours does not.

A 26 inch box and a 72 inch box contain the same 233 tools

This is verifiable from BOXO's own product titles. Across the loaded Pro Series range, from the 26 inch 5 drawer up to the 72 inch garage top, the tool count does not change. What changes is the steel.

BOXO loaded Pro Series Pieces Price Per piece
26" 5 drawer 233 $1,400 $6.01
53" 12 drawer rolling 233 $2,850 $12.23
72" 14 drawer garage top 233 $5,885 $25.26

Put our 37 inch next to their flagship: $5,885 for 233 tools, or $5,999.99 for 1,008 tools. Four times the tools for $115 more. Above 233 tools there is no BOXO product to compare against at any price.

Teng PRO35 kit Pieces Price Per piece
53" Monster Stack, 19 drawer 1,295 $11,439.99 $8.83
37" workstation 1,008 $5,999.99 $5.95
26" stack case, 16 drawer 753 $4,949.99 $6.57
26" roller cabinet 628 $2,639.99 $4.20

BOXO prices are their current sale prices pulled from their own storefront, September 2026. Piece counts are not standardised across brands, so treat them as an indicator and the 233 ceiling as the structural fact.

Terms from boxousa.com/pages/warranty. Worth noting fairly: some BOXO foam product pages describe the foam as covered by a hassle-free lifetime warranty, while the warranty terms page states one year. Read both and draw your own conclusion. Ours is covered for life under the storage warranty, and we would say the same to you about any brand: read the terms page, not the product page.

Where BOXO is the better call

  • Entry price, clearly. $1,400 puts a loaded 26 inch 5 drawer box in your bay. Our cheapest loaded roller cabinet is $2,639.99. A first year apprentice with $1,500 should buy BOXO and we are not going to pretend there is a Teng answer at that number.
  • Standard foam preserves drawer height. Their standard inserts are 1-1/4 inch against our 46 to 50 mm trays. In a shallow drawer they fit more. Our trays cost roughly 14 to 18 mm more height, and the lid is inside that figure rather than on top of it.
  • The drawer fraction system is easy to think about. One third, two thirds, full drawer. You can fill a drawer gradually.
  • Soft close full extension drawers on the Pro Series, and four colourways at no extra cost.

One clarification in their favour, because it comes up: BOXO tools are made in Taiwan, by a manufacturer with a long history in tool storage. So are ours. That is not a criticism from us and anyone using it as one is arguing against most of this category.

Where we are the better call

  • Warranty, comprehensively. Their torque cover ends at twelve months without calibration certification, their foam at twelve months, wear items are case by case, a receipt is required for every claim, and buying from the wrong seller voids it. Ours is lifetime on tools and storage, torque included, claimed with a photo.
  • Ceiling. No BOXO loaded box exceeds 233 tools. Ours run to 1,295.
  • Tools per dollar at every tier. Our worst is $11.04 a piece. Their 53 inch 12 drawer is $12.23 and their 72 inch is $25.26.
  • Trays that lift out and lock together, with a lid, rather than foam that stays in the drawer. That is what the extra depth buys.

Common questions

Is BOXO cheaper than Teng? To get started, yes, and by a wide margin. Per tool, no, at any tier we compared.

What happens after a year with BOXO? Their storage stays covered. Their torque tools, EVA foam and tool bags do not.

Are BOXO tools made in Taiwan? Yes, and so are ours. It is a normal thing for professional hand tools and not a mark against either brand.
