The short version: Snap-on sells through a dealer who drives a route, quotes you a number at the back door, and arranges weekly payments. We sell the same class of loaded cabinet at a price printed on the page, paid once, shipped from Fort Worth. If you want a van at your bay every Thursday, Snap-on is genuinely the better buy. If you would rather see the number before you commit, read on.
Snap-on sells you a payment plan. Teng sells you the cabinet.
That is the whole difference, and most of what follows comes out of it. A tool truck is a financing business wrapped around a tool business. The dealer carries the risk, drives the route, services the claim and floats your balance. That is real work and it is priced into what you pay. It also means the figure you are quoted depends on your shop, your history, and the conversation you have that morning.
We do not run a route. Every kit on this site carries a published price, and it is the same price for the technician buying one box and the fleet buying twelve.

No weekly payment, and no balance that follows you
Truck financing spreads a large purchase across manageable weeks, which is exactly why it exists. For plenty of technicians that is the difference between having a box and not having one, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. It also means a running balance that moves with you between shops, and a total that is larger than the sticker. Buying direct, the transaction ends at checkout. What you paid is what it cost.
When Snap-on is the better call
Be honest with yourself about these, because they are real advantages and no comparison page should bury them.
- You want the van. Somebody who knows your name, at your bay, every week, who will swap a broken ratchet out of stock on the spot. We cannot do that. We ship.
- You need to spread the cost. If a weekly payment is what makes the box possible, the truck is built for that and we are not.
- You want the badge. Resale value and standing in the bay are real, and Snap-on has more of both.
- You want it today. If the truck is outside right now, it beats any delivery estimate.
When we are the better call
- You want to see the price before you commit, and compare it against anything else.
- You would rather own the box outright than carry a balance.
- You want the whole catalogue, not what fits on the van this week.
- You are buying for a shop or a fleet and need one consistent price, not per-technician deals.
- You want the tools arriving already laid out in foam, not loose in a drawer.
Common questions
Is Teng Tools professional grade? Yes. Teng Tools was founded in Sweden in 1985 around the Get Organized system, and the range runs to over 3,000 items across more than 30 countries. The tools are made in Taiwan.
What is the warranty? Lifetime against manufacturing defects on hand tools. You claim with an order number and a photo rather than waiting for a van.
Can I buy just the storage, or just the tools? Yes, both, separately. Most people buying at this level want the cabinet arriving loaded, which is what the kits above are.
Do you sell to shops and fleets? Yes. The published price is the price, whether it is one box or twelve. Our Fort Worth team can help you spec a fleet.
