The Teng Tools MB412 is a 300 mm (12 inch) groove joint plier, the kind a US mechanic calls a tongue and groove plier and Teng Tools' own catalogue calls a water pump plier. It has serrated jaws for a more secure grip and non slip groove joints for use with higher force.

The jaws open to 60 mm (2.36 in) and have a jaw depth of 45 mm (1.77 in). That capacity is aimed at a secure grip on larger pipes and fittings, and the same jaws handle nuts, unions and other round or flat-sided parts that a fixed wrench will not fit. Move the lower handle to a different groove to change the jaw width, then grip.
