25 to 250 ft-lb range

Read the full description

The Teng Tools 1292UAG-E4R is a bi-directional 1/2 inch drive wrench with a torque range of 25 to 250 foot-pounds. Its bi-directional head allows controlled tightening in both clockwise and counter-clockwise directions, so right hand and left hand threads can each be tightened to a specified value with the same wrench.

The bi-directional head is what separates the 1292UAG-E4R from the 1292UAG-E4, which has the same 25 to 250 ft-lb range on a 1/2 inch drive. Choose the R where a job includes left hand threads that need a torque figure, so the reverse thread is set as carefully as every right hand thread around it.

The range is stated in foot pounds (ft-lb). Take the value from the specification, set it on the wrench and tighten. Set it once and every fastener in a pattern is taken to the same number; change the setting only when the specification changes.

The 1/2 inch square drive takes standard 1/2 inch drive sockets, so the sockets already in your drawer fit without adapters, in a home garage, a service bay, a fleet workshop or a machine shop.

What you get: the 1292UAG-E4R bi-directional wrench, 1/2 inch drive, 25 to 250 ft-lb. Sockets are not included.

  • The head of the 1292UAG-E4R allows controlled tightening in both clockwise and counter-clockwise directions. Right hand and left hand threads are both taken to their specified value with the same wrench, so a reverse thread in the middle of a job is set to its figure instead of finished off by feel.
  • The wrench operates within a torque range of 25 to 250 foot-pounds on a 1/2 inch drive. Read the figure from the specification, set it, and tighten to that number in either direction. The upper end of the range covers the larger fasteners that a 1/2 inch drive is usually reached for.
  • The 1/2 inch square drive takes standard 1/2 inch drive sockets, so the sockets already in your toolbox drawer in that drive size fit straight on. Sockets are sold separately, which keeps this a single purchase that works with the sizes you already own on the bench or the tool cart.
  • Working to a set value rather than by hand helps stop a nut or bolt being left loose or pulled past its specification. Set the figure once, work around a bolt pattern at that setting, and change it only when the specification changes, so every fastener in the job gets the same number.
  • The 1292UAG-E4R shares its 25 to 250 ft-lb range and 1/2 inch drive with the 1292UAG-E4; the R adds the bi-directional head for left hand threads. It suits a home garage, a service bay, a fleet workshop or a machine shop, wherever a fastener comes with a figure in ft-lb.
