Seized Fastener Kit

For rusted, rounded and seized fasteners: nut splitters with screw and stud extractors, a 600 mm (23.6 inch) bar for leverage, and three pry bars for parts that have bonded in place. This bundle puts the three Teng Tools products a technician reaches for on a stuck job into a single order.

In the box:

• TTSN11: 11-piece extractor and splitter set. Two nut splitters, five spiral screw extractors and four 1/2 inch drive reversible stud extractor sockets in a TT1 tool tray.
• 1201A: 1/2 inch square drive breaker bar, 600 mm (23.6 inch), built to DIN 3122, ball detent socket retainer, bi-material handle.
• TTXPB3A: three straight CrMo pry bars, 300 mm, 450 mm and 550 mm (11.8, 17.7 and 21.7 inch), in a TTX4 tool tray.

The tools work as a sequence. Start with the 1201A for leverage on a fastener that is merely tight. If the nut is rounded or rusted on, split it with one of the two nut splitters instead of cutting the bolt. If a screw or stud breaks, the spiral screw extractors and the 1/2 inch drive stud extractor sockets remove what is left, and the stud extractors fit straight onto the same 1/2 inch drive bar. Once the fasteners are out, the pry bars separate parts that have bonded together.

The extractor set and the pry bars each come in their own Teng Tools tool tray module, so the kit stays organized in a cabinet drawer between jobs.

It drives the four stud extractor sockets in this bundle directly. Weight 1186 g (2.6 lb).
• THREE STRAIGHT BARS (TTXPB3A) — Three straight CrMo pry bars, heavy duty enough for parts that have bonded in place, in 300 mm (11.8 inch), 450 mm (17.7 inch) and 550 mm (21.7 inch) lengths. They are organized in a TTX4 tool tray module so the set stays together in a drawer and a missing bar is obvious. Weight 1816 g (4.0 lb).
• ONE KIT FOR STUCK FASTENERS — Seized work rarely needs only one tool. The bar gives leverage first; when a nut is rounded or rusted solid, one of the two splitters cracks it off the thread; when a stud or screw breaks, the extractors take it out; and when the part itself will not move, the pry bars free it.
