Common questions
What counts as an auto tool here?
The tools you want ready when working on motors and general servicing — spark plug sockets, hose clamp tools, brake and engine service tools. The range exists so the right tool is there when you are.
Does the hose clip driver fit common clips?
It fits most commonly used worm-drive hose clips (Jubilee-type), and the flexible shaft reaches clips buried in confined engine bays.
Are the impact accessories standard-compliant?
Yes — for example the 1/2" double-ended impact socket set includes a 75mm impact extension bar made DIN on the female end and ANSI on the male end, so it works both ecosystems.
Why do spark plugs need a special socket?
Spark plug sockets are deeper than standard sockets and hold the plug captive — typically with a rubber insert or magnet — so you can lower the plug into a deep well and start it by hand without dropping or cross-threading it. Common plug hex sizes are 5/8" (16mm) and 13/16" (21mm); check your engine's spec.
Should I torque wheel and engine fasteners?
Yes — critical automotive fasteners (wheel lugs, head bolts, suspension components) have manufacturer-specified torque values, and both under- and over-tightening cause failures. Use a torque wrench set to the vehicle manufacturer's specification; see our Torque Equipment range.
Torque values and calibration guidance are from the Teng Tools catalogue. Always follow the fastener manufacturer's specified torque.
