When you need to stop flow through a flexible hose without removing it from the vehicle, this Teng Tools plastic pinch off tool gets the job done cleanly. The plier-style jaws open to accommodate hoses from 6 mm up to 19 mm in diameter, which covers the vast majority of vacuum lines, fuel lines, and small coolant hoses on passenger cars and light trucks. At only 43 g (1.5 oz) and 157 mm (6.2 in) long, this tool is compact enough to slip into a pocket or hang from a tool-cart hook. The red plastic body is easy to spot in a crowded toolbox, and the material will not scratch or score the hose it grips, reducing the risk of creating a weak point that leaks later. Typical jobs include isolating a heater core for bypass testing, clamping a coolant line while replacing a water pump, or pinching a fuel line during filter service. Because the jaws hold the hose shut mechanically, you lose very little fluid during the swap, which means less mess, less coolant to top off, and fewer air pockets to bleed out of the system afterward. The one-hand squeeze operation leaves your other hand free to disconnect fittings or position a drain pan. There are no ratchet mechanisms or locking tabs to fumble with in tight spaces. Simply squeeze, hold, and work the connection. Choose the size that matches your most common hose diameters. This 19 mm model handles the small-line range; larger versions are available separately for bigger radiator and industrial hoses.
